Image Style Description
Once you have a dozen image styles, it becomes impossible to remember which is used where and why. This module adds a Description field to the image style form, displayed on the admin listing page, stored as a third-party config setting that exports and imports cleanly.
Image Style Description is a small quality-of-life improvement for Drupal sites with complex image style configurations. Once a site accumulates many image styles — thumbnails at various dimensions, focal-point crops for different aspect ratios, WebP variants — the /admin/config/media/image-styles listing becomes a cryptic list of machine-name-derived labels with no indication of where each style is actually used.
The module adds a Description text field to the image style add and edit forms. This description is then displayed as a column on the image styles admin listing page. The field is stored as a third-party setting on the image style config object, which means it exports cleanly with drush config:export and imports correctly with drush config:import — no separate database table, no extra migration step, and no risk of the descriptions being orphaned during a config sync.
If you disable the module, the image styles themselves continue to work normally. The descriptions simply stop appearing in the admin UI. This makes the module safe to evaluate and remove if it doesn't suit the workflow, without any risk to the underlying media configuration.
The module is not yet covered by the security advisory policy but is extremely low-risk — it adds a single optional field to an existing form.
