Info Banner

A lightweight module for displaying configurable, site-wide notification banners in Drupal — supporting top-of-page banners, modal popups, scheduling, user dismissal via cookie, and path-based visibility rules. No custom code required.

Info Banner provides a simple but well-featured system for site-wide notifications on Drupal 10 and 11 sites. The module is deliberately lightweight — it does not introduce a new entity type or complex configuration hierarchy — while covering the most common real-world use cases.

Banners can be displayed in three positions: a top-of-page banner, a modal popup, or injected into a specific DOM element on the page. Each banner supports rich text via Drupal's standard text formats, scheduling with start and end dates for automatic activation and expiration, and an optional close button that stores dismissal state in a cookie so the banner does not reappear after a visitor has dismissed it.

Visibility is controlled by path conditions, making it straightforward to show a banner on specific sections of the site or exclude the admin UI. The module ships with a block integration submodule for creating multiple independent banners independently managed through the blocks UI.

Info Banner is cache-friendly, compatible with Drupal's page caching system, and requires no custom code to configure. It fills a gap that previously required either a contrib module with much heavier dependencies or custom code.
