Snipper

Drupal's configuration synchronisation is all-or-nothing by design, which creates friction during development when only one change is ready to deploy. Snipper adds per-item import, export, and YAML download controls directly to the config sync page.

Snipper solves a workflow friction point that most Drupal developers encounter: you have one configuration change ready for production, but forty others are still in progress. The standard Configuration Synchronization page forces you to import everything or nothing.

The module adds three operation links to every row on the Configuration Synchronization page, sitting alongside the existing View differences link. Import writes a single item from the sync directory into active configuration. Export captures the live version of an item back to the sync directory. Download YML fetches the raw YAML of any differing item immediately, without needing Drush or terminal access.

The implementation includes a confirmation step before any write operation, language and configuration collection support, and zero configuration — install the module and the links appear. The module is deliberately scoped to individual settings, fields, views, and display modes. It does not invoke the full ConfigImporter pipeline, so it is not suited for enabling or disabling modules or themes.

Snipper is maintained by Factorial GmbH, supports Drupal 10 and 11, and version 1.0.1 is covered by the security advisory policy.
